Wall Street Journal examines Tyson Foods' China chicken farms

Arkansas Business outlines a report published in the Wall Street Journal examining Tyson Foods Inc.'s expanding operations in China.

The Springdale, Ark.-based company is reportedly improving its profitability in the country by building its own chicken farms there. The Wall Street Journal reports Tyson aims to run 90 such farms in China by 2015, up from its current count of 20.

While Tyson doesn't disclose revenue by country, analysts estimate the company is raking in about $715 million in revenue in its most recent fiscal year and is on track to reach $1 billion by 2015, according to Arkansas Business.
