Tennessee lawmakers have passed a measure protecting religious adoption agencies if they choose not to allow same-sex couples to adopt a child.
The bill states adoption agencies are not required to participate in child placement if it would "violate the agency's written religious or moral convictions or policies."
Gov. Bill Lee's office confirmed he would sign the bill when it comes across his desk.
