Size: 5,100 square feet
Estimated cost: $1.4 million
Estimated completion: May
Project description: A new library in Sparta will feature teen, adult and child reading areas, a meeting room, study room, computer area and a drive-up window. Project officials say the design stems from a book laid on its spine, as the interior contains a “spine” that moves you through the space, and the exterior has a dynamic angle reflecting the pages of an open book. The exterior features metal panels with brick and glass for ample natural light. Sapp Design Associates Architects PC is the project architect with engineering work by J&M Engineering LLC, structural; Toth and Associates Inc., civil; and True Engineering Group LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
Burger Bar launched in the lobby of Springfield’s Vib hotel; Gold Mechanical Inc. conducted an acquisition; and the Springfield office of Omaha, Nebraska-based HDR Engineering Inc. moved.
