Kansas City-based Affinity Enterprise Group purchased Nixa-based housing rehabilitation and renovation company SGF Contracting Services Inc.
Through the deal, SGF Contracting Services kept its name and became a division of Affinity, a holding company of a dozen residential real estate businesses, according to a news release and the company’s website. Affinity Enterprise Group spokeswoman Laura Boasberg said the deal closed March 4 for an undisclosed price.
Affinity retained SGF Contracting Services’ staff working out of the company’s Nixa headquarters, 227 E. Downing St., under President Susan Dupont. With another office in Charlotte, North Carolina, SGF Contracting Services works with clients in nine states. The company has 10 employees, Boasberg said.
Charlie Fitzgerald, CEO of Wrenn Co. Finance LLC and other Affinity Enterprise Group entities, will oversee a planned national expansion for SGF Contracting Services, according to the release.
“Many of our real estate investors have cited struggles finding qualified, reliable rehab and renovation contractors. We believe this acquisition fills that need for both our current and future clients,” he said in the release.
Founded three years ago by Charles and Anne Nelson, SGF Contracting Services’ clients include real estate investment trusts, individual and corporate real estate investors and brokers, government agencies and real estate-owned asset managers, according to its website.
The Nelsons previously owned foreclosure business Midwest Metro before closing it in 2013. The company founded in 2001 had revenue as high as $10 million in 2012 and was an honoree for Springfield Business Journal’s fast-growth Dynamic Dozen awards.
