A 23,500-square-foot project by Sagamore Hill Development Co. is in the works at the corner of East Sunshine Street and South National Avenue, across the street from Mercy Hospital Springfield.
The 1251-1319 E. Sunshine St. and 1764-1770 S. National. Ave. project, which comprises the construction of three modern-designed buildings for retail and office space, is set to be complete by first-quarter 2018, said Ross Murray, vice president of R.B. Murray Co., the property’s broker. Dake Wells Architecture Inc. designed the development to be constructed by general contractor Branco Enterprises Inc. Currently, dirt work has been performed inside the fenced-off development area, and Murray said construction started July 14. The project is estimated to cost $4 million, according to the building permit on file in the Springfield Building Development Services office. The property owner is not listed on on the permit.
“The location is ideal,” Murray said, noting its proximity to the hospital, as well as Missouri State University and Battlefield Mall. “This corner is well-deserving of a development like this one.”
R.B. Murray Co. currently is working through letters of intent with up to five possible tenants, Murray said, declining to disclose their names. Pricing for the 1,388- to 2,414-square-foot spaces range from $18 to $44 per square foot, he said.
Springfield attorney Thomas Auner, who’s listed as the registered agent for Sagamore Hill Development Co. on Missouri secretary of state records, could not be reached by deadline. It’s unclear who the developer is behind Sagamore Hill.
Dame Chiropractic LLC emerged as the new name of Harshman Chiropractic Clinic LLC with the purchase of the business; Leo Kim added a second venture, Keikeu LLC, to 14 Mill Market; and Mercy Springfield Communities opened its second primary care clinic in Ozark.
