U.S. nonfarm payroll ranks rose by 130,000 in January on a seasonally adjusted basis, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday.
Analysts were expecting 55,000 new jobs.
The unemployment rate was 4.3%. Analysts expected the jobless rate to stay unchanged at 4.4% from the prior month.
