Private-sector employers cut 27,000 jobs in early March, according to the ADP National Employment Report released Wednesday.
The report only covers the period leading up to March 12, ahead of most measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
The Labor Department last week indicated a record 3.28 million Americans filed for unemployment March 14-21.
