The O'Reilly family is backing donations made to support Convoy of Hope's relief efforts of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Family members behind O'Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: OLY) will match donations up to $255,000 made to Convoy of Hope for its Ukraine response, according to a news release. The matching challenge is running through April 17.
“The matching challenge creates the opportunity for donors to double their impact,” said Ethan Forhetz, Convoy’s national spokesperson and vice president of public engagement, in the release. “This means twice as many Ukrainians fed, twice as many refugees sheltered and twice as much hope and kindness spread across Europe.”
Convoy of Hope has been on the ground in areas surrounding Ukraine since the Russian invasion began in late February. To date, the Springfield-based nonprofit has served more than 100,000 Ukrainians with supplies such as food, water, hygiene supplies, shoes and sheltering supplies.
Convoy of Hope also is working with other local businesspeople, such as Bogdan Golosinskiy, owner of Strafford-based trucking company Safe Way Carrier LLC, to help Ukrainians fleeing from the warzone, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
The first southwest Missouri location of EarthWise Pet, a national chain of pet supply stores, opened; Grey Oak Investments LLC relocated; and Hot Bowl by Everyday Thai LLC got its start.
