Posted online

The Show-Me State’s unemployment rate dipped a tenth of a point to 3.8 percent in June, according to the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

Last month, the state’s nonfarm payroll employment grew by 11,900 jobs. The data is seasonally adjusted.

Job growth was led by:
    •    government, at 6,000 jobs;
    •    leisure and hospitality, at 4,000;
    •    financial activities, at 3,000;
    •    mining, logging and construction, at 2,100;
    •    manufacturing, at 1,200; and
    •    information, at 500.

Gains were partially offset by 3,300 job losses in educational and health services, 2,000 in professional and business services, and 800 in trade, transportation and utilities, according to the DED.
