Missouri Senate passes COVID-19 liability protection

COVID-19 liability protection cleared the Missouri Senate this week.

The supermajority Republican chamber did not have enough votes to make the legislation an emergency clause that would go into effect immediately. It's unlikely to become law until late August.

The legislation is designed to protect businesses from lawsuits related to the coronavirus pandemic.
