NationsBank announced that online banking on the Internet is now available to Midwest customers via NationsBank Online.
"Banking is no longer about bringing the customer to the bank. It's about bringing the bank to our customers," said Steve Burch, senior bank-
ing executive for NationsBank in Springfield.
Among the services available through the service are funds transfer between selected accounts; viewing of balances on checking, savings, money market, certificates of deposit, CD-based Individual Retirement Accounts, retail loans, lines of credit and credit-card accounts; viewing of up to 45 days of posted transactions of checking, savings and credit-card accounts; check reordering; requests for copies of statements and checks; and sending secure messages to the bank.
The transactions may also be downloaded to personal financial management software, such as Quicken or Microsoft Money.
A release from NationsBank said Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Explorer browser software must be used.
"In addition, account information is protected by the same security offered by IBM Global Network, which is used by financial institutions worldwide, to create a secure end-to-end environment for data as it is being transfered," the bank's release said.
Access identification, personal computer password protection, display of only the last four digits of account numbers and automatic log-off are among the additional security measures used.
Access to NationsBank Online is available by starting at the bank's web site at www.nationsbank.com. Customers should select Online Financial Service and click on NationsBank Online.[[In-content Ad]]
