Director crowdsourcing for 'Apocalypse Now' game

Posted online
Francis Ford Coppola, the director of the Vietnam War film "Apocalypse Now," is crowdsourcing to develop an interactive, psychological horror video game based on the film.

Through Kickstarter, Coppola is seeking $900,000. With 28 days to go, the campaign has raised $96,460. The $900,000 is expected to be only a portion of the costs needed to make and market the game.

Due to launch in 2020, the game is being developed by Coppola's privately-held American Zoetrope film studio and some of the teams behind video game franchises "Battlefield" and "Fallout: New Vegas."
