Omo Japanese Soul Food to relocate within Chesterfield Village

Omo Japanese Soul Food is relocating to a new home in Chesterfield Village.

Co-owner Jay Jung confirmed the restaurant's plans to move to 2215 W. Chesterfield Blvd., a building he said he purchased. The restaurant, which offers ramen, sushi, curry and other dishes, has operated in leased space at 2101 W. Chesterfield Blvd., Ste. B-102, since its June 2017 launch.

Signage, including a Godzilla-style monster holding noodles, has been installed on the front and back of the new building.

Jung said more details, including the planned opening date at the new building, would be released in the coming weeks.

Building permits for the infill of the property have been posted on the door, as has a sign letting customers know that Omo is coming soon. The sign, in part, indicates that there's a "renovation in progress" and a "new location coming soon."

The 2215 W. Chesterfield building was sold by Llama Nation Properties LLC, said Realtor Gerald Zamora of Zamora Real Estate, who brokered the deal. A property listing he provided indicates the roughly 7,600-square-foot space had been marketed for sale at $1.6 million.

The building is part of the former Noble offices purchased in 2018 by Springfield digital commerce firm Classy Llama Studios LLC, according to past reporting. Kinetic Design and Development LLC last year partnered with Sanders, Myers & Blackwell CPAs LLP to buy the easternmost building.
