CoxHealth announced the promotion of a longtime employee to a newly created role within the health system.
Heather Swearengin, who has worked at CoxHealth for 21 years, on Sept. 1 is scheduled to become vice president of consumer experience, according to a news release.
In the role, Swearengin will be in charge of CoxHealth's office of patient experience and contact centers, as well as designing and implementing a training program for all customer-facing employees.
“Our customer experience strategic pillar places the customer and caregiver perspectives front and center in all of our consumer interactions,” said Amanda Hedgpeth, CoxHealth’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, in the release. “I am confident in Heather’s abilities to ensure our organization achieves our ambition of a frictionless consumer experience from end to end.”
Officials said in the release that the VP role was created "to prioritize, centralize and strengthen our customer service efforts. The new role will ensure that our customers and caregivers remain the top priority in everything we do."
Swearengin for the last 13 years has been CoxHealth's administrative director of business development.
A safe room and classroom addition at Willard Central Elementary School will be used by the music, arts and athletic programs for a district that had 4,536 students last year, according to Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education figures, but school officials say enrollment is projected to grow.
