Five companies were new to Springfield Business Journal’s annual Dynamic Dozen fast-growth list, and one came away with the top award at last night’s ceremony.
BP Builders LLC debuted at No. 1, with 2018 revenue of $35 million and 2016-18 revenue growth of 508%. Additionally, its 25 employees in 2018 represented three-year growth of 39%.
Taking the stage at The Barley House at Moon Town Crossing, Managing Member Adam Pyle said the 2016 merger between his company, Adam Pyle & Associates LLC, and his brother-in-law Matt Bailey’s firm, Bailey Co., was instrumental in the growth.
“I wasn’t anticipating this,” Pyle said, before introducing the BP Builders team members on stage with him. “Opportunity is available every day. It’s what we do with the opportunity. We got the opportunity because it was available and we did something with it.”
Around 290 people attended SBJ’s annual Dynamic Dozen event, held at O’Reilly Hospitality Management LLC’s new north-side venue. Greg Burris, executive director of the Give 5 program and Springfield’s former city manager, was the event’s emcee.
No. 2 on the D12 list was Russell Cellular Inc., an eight-time finisher in the Top 12 and a two-time winner. The Verizon Wireless national dealer earned 2018 revenue of $424 million and three-year growth of 64%.
