Faith Community Health Center Inc. in Branson is forgiving all past patient debt through a donation from local restaurateurs.
Babette and Nolan Fogle, owners of Pasghetti's Restaurant & Attraction and longtime FCH supporters, provided the debt-relief donation, according to a news release. The value of the combined patient debt with the health center was undisclosed.
"We admire the work of Faith Community Health. The gap they fill in our community is real," said Babette Fogle, an FCH board member, in the release.
The donation from the Fogles goes toward FCH's 2022 campaign called the Year of Jubilee; in Hebrew tradition, a jubilee year is one in which debts are forgiven. The campaign also includes a pledge from FCH to suspend penalty fees this year. FCH's clinic provides income-based primary care, mental health, vision and prescriptions for the medically underserved in Stone and Taney counties
“Our board realized the disciplinary charge was preventing individuals from reengaging with the clinic and causing further impact to their health and therefore their quality of life,” said Anne McGregor, interim executive director of FCH, in the release. “We have seen time and again that when men and women find an affordable, quality home for their health and medication needs they are able to live life better."
