Area nonprofits receive $891K in tax credits from state

The Missouri Department of Economic Development issued nearly $900,000 in tax credits to four area nonprofits.

Good Samaritan Boys Ranch is the largest local recipient, according to a news release, along with Missouri Main Street Connection Inc., Faith Community Health Center Inc. and Community Outreach Ministries of Bolivar MO. Through the state's Neighborhood Assistance Program, donors may give to the selected nonprofits in exchange for 70% partial tax credits.

From the proceeds of its $349,739 in tax credits, Good Samaritan Boys Ranch in Brighton plans to support its Catalyst trauma care and equine therapy program.

Branson's Missouri Main Street Connection was issued $278,420 worth of tax credits. The nonprofit works to revitalize Missouri communities' historic downtown areas, according to the release.

Faith Community Health Center, also in Branson, was chosen for $152,317 to expand capacity for low-income patients at its charitable clinic.

With $111,002 in tax credits, Community Outreach Ministries intends to renovate its existing building with additional office and group meeting space, according to the release. The nonprofit provides services for low-income families, including financial and food assistance.

“We’re proud to assist Missouri nonprofits as they provide critical services to citizens statewide,” Gov. Mike Parson said in the release. “Through this program, we’re able to support organizations in their work to strengthen Missouri communities, which in turn benefits our entire state and its economy.”
