Project description: New Covenant Academy is expanding to a second location about a mile from the main campus to accommodate growing enrollment. The new Liberty Campus will house 300 fifth- through eighth-grade students, said Chief Financial Officer Marlys Schoenwetter. There are 650 students enrolled at the private school, she said, a 62 percent increase from five years ago. The project converts a portion of the former Life360 Church to classroom space and expands the second floor. Schoenwetter said the project was delayed several months after a fire broke out in the building this summer.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
