Project description: Site improvements and the construction of a new pavilion began this spring at Fantastic Caverns in north Springfield. Project Superintendent Bobby Shires of Crossland Construction said his team is constructing a new entrance and parking lot, as well as updating landscaping. He said the new pavilion would provide a spot for people to have lunch during their visit. Hood-Rich Inc. is the project architect, and engineers are Interpres Building Solutions LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing; Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; frankZdesign LLC, landscape architect; and Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural.
