STL circuit attorney called to resign

Posted online

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner is facing calls to resign over alleged missteps her office took involving a recent crash that caused a visiting volleyball player to lose both her legs.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey on Wednesday demanded that Gardner resign by noon Thursday or face removal proceedings.

"Instead of protecting victims, Circuit Attorney Gardner is creating them," Bailey said. "My office will do everything in its power to restore order and eliminate the chaos in St. Louis caused by Kim Gardner’s neglect of her office."
