Southwest Airlines grounded 34 planes on the eve of Thanksgiving, according to the Chicago Business Journal.
Company officials found the Boeing 737-700 aircraft did not have maintenance paperwork in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration safety standards.
Southwest officials said the company voluntarily followed the FAA mandate to do immediate detailed visual inspections of the planes.
