Changes appear to be in the works at the south-side Macadoodles.
The 1455 E. Independence St. liquor store and gas station announced in a Facebook post yesterday that it's "temporarily closed awaiting new ownership."
The post adds, "We will open again ASAP."
Details of the ownership change were not stated in the Facebook post, and company officials could not be reached for comment by deadline.
The Independence Street store was opened by Kim and Brett Lorenzen in 2012, according to Springfield Business Journal archives. A March 6 Facebook post from the Macadoodles store pointed to ownership by Adam and Judy Wozniak.
Greene County assessor records list the owner of the more than 11,000-square-foot Macadoodles on Independence Street as Whiskey Business Realty LLC. That LLC is registered with the Missouri secretary of state by the Wozniaks.
O’Reilly Hospitality Management LLC opened the north-side Macadoodles in 2016 at 3080 N. Kentwood Ave., according to past reporting.
