It's easy to get into Anytown, USA, but not so easy to leave.
Following Anheuser-Busch's media blitz and interview process to select more than 1,000 people for its Bud Light campaign, the filming and all-expenses-paid party went off without a hitch in Crested Butte, Colo., this weekend. However, when the hoards of beer drinkers attempted to leave the small mountain town, the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport couldn't handle the crowd.
The Associated Press reports a private security company fell behind on screening requirements for travelers leaving on chartered planes and Anheuser-Busch footed the bill for those travelers who were forced to stay the night and those who missed connecting flights.
For the party, the beer company paid $500,000 to paint several block of central street blue and installed a sand volleyball court, a multistory cowboy boot statue, a gorilla and a director's chair that comfortably seats six people, according to the AP.
