The local dining scene is in growth mode with multiple announcements in recent days.
7 Brew Coffee
The newest Springfield-area 7 Brew Coffee shop is open for business in Republic.
Franchisee Brew Crew LLC held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 1234 US-60 store on Oct. 16, according to a news release.
The store employs 65, officials say, and its debut came with a donation of more than $12,000 to Convoy of Hope by Brew Crew.
“We’re thrilled to honor our commitment to cultivating kindness through our partnership with Convoy of Hope," said Jaclyn Bauer, regional manager for 7 Brew Republic, in the release.
The store's regular hours started Oct. 20.
Brew Crew additionally is planning a 2026 launch for a new 7 Brew Coffee store in Nixa at 415 N. Massey Blvd, according to past reporting. The shops are small-format, modular buildings.
7 Brew's website also lists seven stores in Springfield and one in Branson.
The Big Slice
New York-style pizzeria The Big Slice LLC, which has done business in Springfield since 2013, is adding a new store in Republic.
Jared Commercial & Management LLC announced in an Oct. 21 Facebook post that The Big Slice is coming soon to 558 E. Harrison St. in Republic. The restaurant would be located in the Republic Town Center.
The Big Slice currently has three locations in Springfield and also operates in Rogersville.
Rebar Kitchen & Taproom
A second location is on the way for Rebar Kitchen & Taproom.
The company announced in an Oct. 21 Facebook post that it would open a new restaurant at 2925 W. Republic Road. The retail center space was recently vacated by Bugsy Malone's.
The first Rebar Kitchen & Taproom location opened in May 2024 at 2902 S. Campbell Ave., Ste. D, in the Imperial Plaza shopping center, according to past reporting.
Chesterfield Village
In southwest Springfield's Chesterfield Village, the space vacated a year ago by Omo Japanese Soul Food's relocation is showing signs of new life.
Signage has been installed for Lucky Cat, a boba tea and sweets shop, and Fuku Shop, a Japanese street food and dessert concept. Springfield Business Journal is located next door to the spaces at 2101 W. Chesterfield Blvd., Stes. B101 and B102.
Building permits for the signage changes were filed this month with the city of Springfield.
Missouri secretary of state records point to Jay Jung or Stephanie Liu as registered agents for LLCs tied to Lucky Cat and Fuku Shop.
Jung and Liu, who also co-own Omo Japanese Soul Food, could not be reached for comment by deadline.
Lucky Cat also has a location at 3424 S. Glenstone Ave., according to its Facebook page.
Omo Japanese Soul Food relocated within Chesterfield Village to 2215 W. Chesterfield Blvd. in October 2024, according to past reporting.
