A retirement and a relocation have opened up two executive-level jobs at Nixa Public Schools, and officials selected leaders within the district to fill them.
The district announced appointments for the positions of executive director of secondary education and executive director of curriculum, instruction and assessment.
Jared Webster whas been named executive director of secondary education to succeed Clay Hanna, who is retiring after 19 years in the role and 32 years at Nixa Public Schools, according to a news release. Webster is being promoted from principal of Nixa Junior High.
Hanna is credited with overseeing the school police program, honors classes and diploma programs as well as construction projects at the district's high school and junior high.
“It has been my honor to have been able to continue to expand and improve the various academic areas and the athletic and activity options to make sure all students in Nixa find success and find an activity in which they can excel,” Hanna said in the release. “I have enjoyed working with the great teachers, staff, administrators, students and parents to help achieve student success.”
Coming into the executive director of curriculum, instruction and assessment role is Brigette Golmen, a current principal in Nixa. The release indicates she's stepping in as Josh Chastain exits the district. Chastain is scheduled to start in July 2023 as superintendent of the Harrisonville School District, according to past reporting.
Golmen has worked as Mathews Elementary principal for the past six years.
