A new residential development that opened this week has added 22 units to the north side.
Pacific Station, which is located at 1220 E. Pacific St., just east of National Avenue between Division and Commercial streets, opened to residents on Oct. 1, according to a news release from owner and developer Valiant Group. An open house is scheduled for tomorrow.
The development’s 11 duplexes have 22 apartments with three bedrooms and two bathrooms apiece.
Valiant Group served as general contractor and architect for Pacific Station, which spans 39,000 square feet, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. The developer has declined to disclose the project cost.
Valiant Group owner Josh Manning told SBJ last year that the development is meant to address the oft-cited problem of “missing middle” housing – that is, housing that is accessible to working-class buyers and renters and breaks the mold of traditional single-family housing.
“The barriers of entry to homeownership are very challenging right now,” he said in October 2024. “We want to provide affordable, safe homes to good people.”
Valiant Group also recently started work on a 100-unit housing development in southwest Springfield called The Arcadian, according to past reporting.
