Construction work has started on a 100-unit housing development in southwest Springfield.
Valiant Management Group LLC, dba Valiant Group, is the developer and general contractor for the apartment complex called The Arcadian, said owner Josh Manning. He said his company broke ground around three months ago on the 3672 W. Farm Road 160 development near the Battlefield Road and West Bypass intersection, and the targeted completion date is in late 2026.
Manning said The Arcadian is designed by Hood-Rich Architecture Inc. as a four-story building spanning 127,295 square feet, and the development would have a mix of studio and two-bedroom units. Manning's 2G-MB Investments LLC owns the nearly 5-acre site, according to Greene County assessor and Missouri secretary of state records.
"We saw the potential in this side of town early on. It’s growing fast, and we knew the demand for quality housing was only going to increase," Manning said via email, noting the site's existing zoning fit his company's plans, as well. "We wanted to bring something new and well-designed to that part of Springfield. The Arcadian is our answer to that – a place that blends style, comfort and convenience for the next generation of renters."
The plans for The Arcadian units include 9-foot ceilings, granite countertops and laundry machines, as well as complex amenities like a gym, pool, pickleball and basketball courts, and valet trash service, Manning said.
Manning declined to disclose the expected cost of the development. An April 30 deed of trust between 2G-MB Investments and OMB Bank for the site lists a note amount of $19.5 million, according to Greene County Recorder data.
Valiant Group ranked No. 6 in Springfield Business Journal's 2025 Dynamic Dozen list of fast-growing companies. The company reported 2024 revenue of $11.5 million, representing three-year growth of 180.5%.
