NASA's Mars rover named Opportunity went out of operation on Wednesday, 15 years after it landed on the planet.
The six-wheel vehicle was built to operate for just three months on Mars.
“Even though it’s a machine and we’re saying goodbye, it’s still very hard and very poignant, but we had to do that. We came to that point," project manager John Callas said after the rover succumbed to a dust storm.
