Local nonprofits receive $220K in grants

Local nonprofits yesterday were presented with over $220,000 in grants.

The funding from the Stanley & Elaine Ball Foundation, managed by Central Trust Co., goes to more than 20 recipients, according to a news release. Award recipients were required to demonstrate their ability to enhance educational opportunities and support disadvantaged children.

The recipients, in alphabetical order, are:

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield - Youth of the Year, $500.
  • Boy Scouts of America, Ozark Trail Council, $5,000.
  • Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southwest Missouri, $5,000.
  • Cents of Pride, $10,000.
  • Children's Smile Center, $6,835.
  • Community Partnership of the Ozarks Inc., $7,500.
  • Council of Churches of the Ozarks Inc., $15,000
  • Cox Healthcare Foundation, two grants of $5,000 apiece.
  • Foundation for Springfield Public Schools, $20,000.
  • Gift of Hope Inc., $6,800.
  • Good Samaritan Boys Ranch, $6,500.
  • Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, MO, $7,500.
  • Harmony House, $8,500.
  • History Museum on the Square, $7,500.
  • Least of These, $7,500.
  • Lutheran Family & Children's Services of Missouri, $25,000.
  • Ozarks Area Community Action Corp., $3,000.
  • Ozarks Literacy Council, $10,000.
  • Southern Stone County Food Pantry, $7,500.
  • Springfield Symphony Orchestra Inc., $10,000.
  • Taneyhills Community Library, $20,000.
  • The Arc of the Ozarks, $10,000.
  • The Rebound Foundation Inc., $5,000.
  • WIN-PPS Foundation for Women In Need Inc., $7,500.
