The Missouri Job Center reopened to the public today.
It's the first Missouri Job Center statewide to restart operations after being temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, said Sally Payne, interim director of Workforce Development for the city of Springfield, in a news release.
"Several adjustments and safety measures have been implemented in our daily operations to protect both Job Center visitors and staff," Payne said in the release.
Occupancy limits will allow up to 40 people at a time, and additional cleaning and sanitization efforts are being implemented. The center also will operate with limited hours.
Missouri Workforce Development Director Mardy Leathers today toured the 2900 E. Sunshine St. center, according to the release.
The Job Center provides paid skills training and job assistance, helps with job searches and posts job openings for employers, among other services.
A 2023 Harvard Business Review study suggests significant positive changes when employees take sabbaticals, including greater self-clarity and management confidence.
