Jenna Bush Hager, former President George W. Bush’s daughter, is scheduled to serve as the keynote speaker for Missouri State University’s upcoming Public Affairs Conference.
Bush Hager, who’s also the granddaughter of former President George H.W. Bush, is scheduled to speak Sept. 25 at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, according to a news release.
Bush Hager is slated to deliver a presentation dubbed “Making a difference: How the power of compassion changes lives.”
“Her message of compassion for supporting those in need inspires audiences to help the disadvantaged and take a more active role in their communities,” MSU officials say in press materials.
Bush Hager and her sister last year released a book, “Sisters First: Stories from Our Wild and Wonderful Life.” She also serves as chairwoman for United Nations Children’s Fund’s Next Generation initiative, works as editor-at-large of Southern Living Magazine and appears as a correspondent for NBC’s “Today” show, according to the release.
The Missouri State University Foundation contributed to make the event free and open to the public.
MSU’s Public Affairs Conference, scheduled Sept. 25-27, comprises 21 sessions on topics related to this year’s “Unity in Community” mission statement, according to the release.
