The Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors will undergo several changes with the new year.
Stephanie Hein, head of Missouri State University’s department of hospitality leadership, is scheduled to become board chairwoman on Jan. 1. She succeeds Big Whiskey’s co-owner Paul Sundy, who will become immediate past president, according to a news release.
Springfield Assistant City Manager Collin Quigley moves into the vice chairman role for the board that meets the third Thursday of every month.
Other board officers include:
• Phill Burgess, vice president of sales and marketing at John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, who’s continuing as treasurer;
• Gordon Elliott, owner of Elliott Lodging, who’s staying on as assistant treasurer; and
• Tracy Kimberlin, president of the CVB, who’s remaining corporate secretary.
Jeff Childs, senior advisor at SVN/Rankin Co., is scheduled to take over as the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce representative on the CVB board for Amy Austin, who retired as associate general manager at City Utilities, according to the release.
The release lists eight other board members: Joe Wadkins of DoubleTree by Hilton; Diane Heatherly of Bass Pro Shops; Cara Walker Whiteley of Days Inn South; Bob Cirtin of Greene County; Martina Sally of MSRG Real Estate Group; Matt Morrow of the chamber; Dan Reiter of the Springfield Cardinals; and Brad Danzak of Rolling Oaks Hospitality.
Dame Chiropractic LLC emerged as the new name of Harshman Chiropractic Clinic LLC with the purchase of the business; Leo Kim added a second venture, Keikeu LLC, to 14 Mill Market; and Mercy Springfield Communities opened its second primary care clinic in Ozark.
