Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts

Posted online
Juanita K. Hammons Hall has been presenting national touring Broadway productions since the venue opened its doors in the fall of 1992.  Since that time, more than two million patrons have seen a show on the Hall’s impressive stage.  This November, Hammons Hall will open its new Broadway Season with the iconic “Jesus Christ Superstar”.
Celebrating its 50th Anniversary, “Jesus Christ Superstar” (November 6-8, 2023) is a new, mesmerizing production of the iconic musical phenomenon. Paying tribute to the historic 1971 Billboard Album of the Year, this unique production will appeal to both theater audiences and concert music fans.
Direct from Broadway, “Mean Girls” (February 5-7, 2024 – southwest Missouri premiere) is the hilarious hit musical from book writer Tina Fey.  The story of a naïve newbie who falls prey to a trio of lionized frenemies, “Mean Girls” “delivers with immense energy, a wicked sense of humor and joyful inside-jokery” cheers New York Magazine.
Your favorite ogre is back – along with his wisecracking Donkey and the feisty princess who resists her rescue – in “Shrek” (March 19-21, 2024), the Tony Award®-winning fairy tale musical adventure based on the Oscar®-winning, smash hit DreamWorks animated film.
“Come from Away” (April 12-13, 2024- southwest Missouri Premiere), is a breathtaking show that celebrates the best in humankind and the best in all of us with the remarkable true story of 7,000 airline passengers stranded by the world-stopping events of 9/11, and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them.
“Pretty Woman: The Musical” (April 23-25, 2024 – southwest Missouri premiere) is based on one of Hollywood’s most beloved romantic stories of all time.  The show features an original score by Grammy® winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and a book by the movie’s legendary director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J. F. Lawton.
Don’t miss these spectacular shows!  Remember, when you support Broadway at the Hall you are investing in our community. Your patronage contributes to the significant economic impact of the arts in Springfield.  Season subscriptions for the 2023-2024 Broadway Series are now on sale. For more information go to
