Branson Airport was selected as a recipient of the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Safety Enhancement Award during the 28th annual Airports Conference, held Sept. 27 in Kansas City.
The award recognizes airports with three straight years of perfect performance on annual inspections. During the reviews, the FAA inspects airport files and paperwork, runways, rescue and fire fighting abilities, fueling facilities and lighting, among other items, according to the
FAA Web site.
“The staff of our operations department work continuously to ensure the airport maintains compliance with all of our regulatory requirements,” said Jeremy Berven, director of operations at the Branson Airport, in a news release. “This award illustrates the dedication to safety and standards our staff have day in and day out.”
The airport staff's safety duties include daily airfield inspections, wildlife management, fuel inspections, fire and rescue services, personnel training, and snow and ice removal.
During the conference, Springfield-Branson National Airport also was given the Airport Safety Enhancement Award, according to
Springfield Business Journal archives.
