BKD sits tight as 10th largest accounting firm

Springfield-based BKD LLP has once again been listed as the No. 10 largest accounting firm in the country by the nationally recognized Inside Public Accounting newsletter.

The firm has been in the top 10 since 2001, when it peaked at No. 7. It has held the No. 10 spot since 2005, said Chad Person, BKD director of marketing and business development.

The report ranks the list based on net revenue growth, number of offices and other select criteria. This year, the list focuses on the the strategies used by companies to thrive in the rough economic climate.

According to the August newsletter, BKD's fiscal 2010 net revenue was just shy of $389 million, a -0.4 percent change from 2009.  BKD's fiscal year ended May 31, according to its Web site.

The firm has 30 offices, according to the report.

New York-based Deloitte LLP retained the No. 1 spot on the list, with a net revenue of almost $11 million, a 2 percent increase from 2009, the report said.

The 2010 Inside Public Accounting newsletter marked its 20th anniversary, according to the report.[[In-content Ad]]
