Battlefield Mall has named a new general manager.
Amanda Estes, an employee of property owner Simon Property Group Inc. for nine years, formerly serving as area director of marketing and business development for Battlefield Mall, took on the general manager role this month.
“Battlefield Mall is a vital community hub in Springfield," she said via email. "As general manager, I am excited to work with leasing and local businesses to attract popular retailers, like Lululemon and Kendra Scott, and continue to evolve the mall in order to serve our community’s needs."
Estes succeeds Michael Martin, who this month transitioned to another Simon-owned property. Battlefield Mall's leader for seven years, Martin is now general manager of West Town Mall in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he is closer to family, Estes said.
As general manager, Estes leads a mall with some 1.2 million square feet of surface area. Jewelry chain Kendra Scott LLC recently opened a pop-up shop at the mall, between Lululemon and Five Guys, according to past reporting.
After discovering a niche for vintage typewriters, Laura Prather quickly grew a home-based typewriter sale and service business.
