Bass Pro Shops is planning to contribute as much as $25,000 to The Salvation Army in Springfield.
The company this week is matching donations made to the nonprofit’s signature red kettles at Bass Pro's flagship store, 621 W. Sunshine St., according to a news release. The Salvation Army has until 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve day to meet the match.
Donations would go toward The Salvation Army's 2022 Red Kettle Love Has an Army Campaign. With a budget of more than $1 million, the campaign so far has reached $500,879, or 49% of its total. The end of January is the deadline for the nonprofit to meet its goal.
The faith-based poverty relief organization provides emergency social services, homeless housing, food pantries and other assistance locally.
