A pair of Springfield companies have partnered to purchase a Queen City building for their new corporate offices.
Moreno Group Commercial Realty and Building Systems Design Group acquired the former Debco building at 2900 S. Fremont Ave., said Caleb Moreno, owner of the real estate company. He declined to disclose the purchase price.
"It will be the new primary office for Moreno Group Commercial Realty and BSDG," Moreno said, noting BSDG is owned by Nathan Riley. "It will also house two national tenants coming to the Springfield market for the first time, as well as a locally established and well-known spa expanding their footprint."
Moreno declined to disclose the other tenants that have signed on for space in the 12,000-square-foot building located near Battlefield Mall. He did note that the national tenants are in the fitness industry.
Before the businesses move in, around $900,000 in renovations will have been conducted, he said. Bonilla Construction LLC is serving as general contractor for the renovation project designed by Godwin & Associates Architects & Engineers Inc. Work is slated for completion at the end of October.
Moreno Group Commercial Realty and BSDG, which both currently operate in suites at 3809 S. Greystone Court, are taking on 2,500 square feet apiece in the Fremont Avenue building, Moreno said.
