Twitter cutting down on office space as remote work becomes the norm in Big Tech

Twitter has informed employees it is shuttering a San Diego office, one of 37 worldwide. The future of seven other locations is in question, and plans for a new-build office in Oakland, California, have been canceled. Another five offices will be downsized.

Other tech companies, including Yahoo, Yelp, Netflix and Salesforce, are also cutting down on office space. Big Tech is ahead of other sectors in allowing remote work, with top executives working from outside the office and even outside the country.
