Project description: The new center, located on property near southwest Springfield’s Carver Middle School, is part of the $168 million bond proposal, nicknamed Prop S, that voters approved in April. Officials say the two-story center includes 12 classrooms, shared teacher offices, a kitchen and a 2,200-square-foot safe room. There also will be a covered outdoor play area. Paragon Architecture LLC and Sapp Design Associates Architects PC teamed up as project architects, and engineers are Olsson Inc., civil; Toth and Associates Inc., structural; and Interpres Building Solutions LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
