Springfield Public Schools Deputy Superintendent of Operations Travis Shaw has returned to work after a nearly two-month period of paid leave.
Stephen Hall, SPS chief communications officer, said Shaw returned from leave on June 23. Shaw had been on paid leave since April 30, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
Hall declined to give a reason for Shaw's period of paid leave, noting "personnel matters are confidential." Shaw could not be reached for comment by deadline.
Shaw has a contract for the 2025-26 academic year that starts July 1, said Hall. SBJ previously reported Shaw's salary as deputy superintendent of operations at $204,237.
An SPS employee since 2017, Shaw was promoted to deputy superintendent of operations in 2023 from executive director of operations, according to past reporting. The deputy superintendent of operations oversees financial and business services, transportation, facilities and construction, and human resources, among other areas.
