A member of the Springfield Public Schools executive leadership team is on paid leave.
Travis Shaw, deputy superintendent of operations, has been on paid leave since April 30, according to SPS Chief Communications Officer Stephen Hall.
"He remains on paid leave as an employee of SPS," Hall said via email.
Shaw also remains listed among executive leaders on the district's website.
Hall declined to provide further details, noting that personnel matters are confidential by law. Attempts to reach Shaw were unsuccessful by deadline.
An SPS employee since 2017, Shaw was promoted to deputy superintendent of operations in 2023 from executive director of operations, according to past reporting. The deputy superintendent of operations oversees financial and business services, transportation, facilities and construction, and human resources, among other areas.
Shaw's salary as deputy superintendent of operations is $204,237, said Teresa Bledsoe, director of communications for SPS.
The Springfield News-Leader was first to report on Shaw's paid leave.
