Apollo Capital Management and multiple banks are in talks with SpaceX to help fund the company's purchase of $40 billion worth of graphics processing units from Nvidia, a source familiar with the matter told CNBC.
The deal is expected to rely on the investment-grade debt market, the source said.
Discussions are preliminary, with details yet to be finalized.
