The south Springfield license office is returning next week at a new location.
The license office is scheduled to open Oct. 8 at 3433-D S. Campbell Ave. in the Liberty Commons Shopping Center, according to news release from the Missouri Department of Revenue. Previously at 319 E. Battlefield Road, Ste. P, the south Springfield license office closed in May after St. Louis-area company Elle Management LLC did not renew the license, according to past reporting.
BCFO Titleworks Inc., the for-profit side of Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, was awarded the contract this summer.
BCFO CEO Joe Daues said 13 people would staff the South Campbell space that previously housed Real Estate School of the Ozarks, which maintains a presence in the Liberty Commons Shopping Center. He said the square footage is approximately 3,000.
"As a contract holder for the state of Missouri, we couldn't be happier to be back in Springfield since we lost our contract for Glenstone a couple years ago," Daues said, referencing a former BCFO Titleworks-operated license office at 1002 S. Glenstone Ave. "I know the people of Springfield – of south Springfield especially – have been waiting for this office to reopen."
BCFO Titleworks also was recently renewed as the operator for the license office in Republic.
Springfield will once again have three license offices with the launch of the location in Liberty Commons. The DOR's website lists the contractors for the two other Springfield license offices as License Office Services LLC for the 149 Park Central Square location and CGB Holdings LLC for the 525A S. Glenstone Ave. location.
