One of Springfield's three license offices has closed, though the Missouri Department of Revenue is soliciting bids for a new contractor.
The license office, at 319 E. Battlefield Road, Ste. P, closed May 16, said JoDonn Chaney, director of strategy and communications for the Missouri Department of Revenue. The office's contractor, St. Louis-area company Elle Management LLC, did not renew the license with the DOR, he noted.
A new contractor may be on the way.
"The bid process is underway. DOR is working to get another office open as quickly as possible to accommodate patrons in and around the Springfield area," Chaney said via email.
The DOR's website lists the contractors for the two other Springfield license offices as License Office Services LLC for the 149 Park Central Square location and CGB Holdings LLC for the 525A S. Glenstone Ave. location.
Officials with Elle Management could not be reached for comment by deadline.
