Posted online

Russell Cellular Inc. has made a series of executive changes that CEO Jeff Russell says amounts to "the most exciting announcement in our company’s history.”

The promotions include his son, Jeven Russell, being elevated to co-president from vice president of operations, according to a news release.

"Jeven is capable of leading this team into the future, and I look forward to working alongside my son as we share the responsibility of running the company," Jeff Russell said in the release.

Jeven Russell started with the Battlefield-based Verizon wireless retail agent in 2008, first working on inventory shipping, receiving and purchasing stock before rising in the ranks. His father founded the company in 1993, and it now operates nationwide with more than 700 stores in 43 states.

"I am proud to be a part of our family business, and I'm grateful for this opportunity to stand alongside Jeff in this new role," Jeven Russell said in the release.

Russell was one of five executive promotions that took effect today.

Additionally, Layton Alsup was promoted to vice president of executive support; Daniel Hyder became chief sales officer; Nathan Mindeman moved to chief strategy officer; and Kurt Reinhart was appointed to vice president of learning and development.

Russell Cellular this year ranked No. 2 on Springfield Business Journal's Dynamic Dozen fast-growth awards list. The company reported 2020 revenue of $664.5 million, representing three-year growth of 57%.

Company officials previously projected revenue would exceed $800 million this year.
