Price Cutter Charity Championship organizers are in preparation mode as professional golfing returns to Springfield next month.

The tournament's annual media day, presented by the H.O.P.E. Foundation, was held yesterday at Highland Springs Country Club. With a theme of Impact Tomorrow, Today, the PGA Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper is seeking to build on nearly $18.4 million in donations to children's charities made since the event was founded in 1990, according to a news release.

“Our charities do incredible work, and all rely heavily on our tournament to help them make a difference,” said Jerald Andrews, PCCC executive director, in the release. “Businesses and individuals have thrown their support behind our tournament for years through our fundraisers, and we hope they return – and that new folks join in. Most of us cannot fathom what our charities truly do on a daily basis.”

The bulk of the fundraising events for this year's PCCC are scheduled July 15-25, with tournament play slated to take place July 21-24 at Highland Springs.

Last year's tournament distributed a record amount of more than $1 million to 52 children's charities, according to past reporting. The tournament received support from over 400 businesses and individuals.

For the professional golfers scheduled to visit Springfield this year, the tournament's purse will be $750,000, with the winner to earn $135,000, according to the release. The Korn Ferry Tour has announced that all of its tournaments will have a $1 million purse starting in 2023.

Last year, golfer Dylan Wu earned his first professional win at the PCCC, according to past reporting.
