O’Reilly Development breaks ground on 240-unit Nixa multifamily development

Posted online

A new major housing development in Christian County is formally beginning construction following a groundbreaking ceremony.

O'Reilly Development Co. LLC broke ground yesterday on The Meadows at Wicklow, a 240-unit multifamily development in northern Nixa. Nearly 90 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony, which was held in partnership with the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as the general contractor, Russell Construction Co. Inc.

The Meadows at Wicklow is located at 1824 N. Castle Road and is expected to begin phased openings in July 2026, with full construction to be completed by June 2027, O’Reilly Development said in a news release. Estimated construction costs were not disclosed for the development, where work started earlier this summer.

Along with O’Reilly Development and Russell, collaborators on the project include several Springfield-based firms: Arvest Bank, financing; H Design Group LLC, architectural; Shaffer & Hines Inc., civil engineering; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural engineering; CJD Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering; Creative Design Consultants Inc., interior design.

Rogersville-based Affiniti Management Services Inc. is providing operations and property management, while Colorado Springs, Colorado-based All Pro Capital Inc. is an equity partner, according to the release.

Plans for the development call for seven open-breezeway, walk-up-style buildings totaling some 267,000 square feet, including studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units. O’Reilly Development said it plans to furnish each unit with energy-efficient appliances and in-unit washer and dryer capabilities.

Amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, resort-style swimming pool, dog park, outdoor pavilion, multisport court and scenic waling trail.

The Meadows at Wicklow site is roughly 30 acres, Christian County Assessor online records show. The development is part of a multiphase, master-planned neighborhood, according to the release. Nearby, O’Reilly Development has already developed The Castlewood Senior Living community as well as The Villages at Wicklow subdivision.

"As Nixa grows, we’re proud to contribute quality housing that blends modern living with lasting value in a well-planned, walkable neighborhood,” Patrick E. O’Reilly, co-founder and CEO of O’Reilly Development, said in a news release last month.
