T-Mobile earned the top spot in J.D. Power’s 2020 U.S. Wireless Customer Care Study. Including the Springfield call center, T-Mobile scored 848, 43 points higher than the wireless industry average. It is the fifth consecutive top ranking for the company and the 19th time since 2004.

Education
CoxHealth obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Patricia Dix is one of five inductees selected for the Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame by Missouri State University. Dix, along with other inductees Christopher “Kit” Bond, Wendy Doyle, Bob Holden and Dred Scott, will be honored next month at White River Conference Center.

Nixa High School art teacher Ryan Widel was selected for a 2020 Award for Excellence in PK-12 Art Education by the U.S. Society for Education Through Art. He’ll receive the honor this month at the National Art Education Association Convention in Minneapolis.

Engineering
Lana Stephens, engineering technician and forensic investigator at Miller Engineering PC, was honored with the 2019 Rosebud Award from the National Association of Women in Construction-Southwest Missouri Chapter. The award recognizes women in construction with 10 years or less of experience.

Entertainment
Branson performer Shoji Tabuchi was chosen for induction into the National Fiddler Hall of Fame for contributing to the art of fiddling, and preserving, educating and promoting its historical and societal significance. He’ll be inducted next month at the Mabee Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Finance
Piatchek & Associates promoted Shawn Gallagher to associate adviser after attaining his license in Series 7 general securities and as an investment adviser representative from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He is a registered representative with Kestra Investment Services and an investment adviser with Kestra Advisory Services.

Food
Hurts Donut Co. LLC placed No. 25 on Small Business Expo’s 2019 Top 100 Small Businesses. The Best of Small Business Awards recognizes small and midsize business visionaries nationwide.

Health Care
The Health Resources and Services Administration recognized Jordan Valley Community Health Center with a National Quality Leader Award. The center ranked in the top 1-2% of health centers nationwide in clinical quality measures in behavioral health and was the only health center in Missouri to receive the recognition.

Nonprofit
Community Partnership of the Ozarks Inc. appointed Ashley Krug, Brian McDonough, David Oliver and Grant Seifried as board members. Krug is the market development coordinator for the city of Springfield’s Department of Environmental Services Sustainability Division. McDonough is the vice president and general manager for Gray Media Group Inc. Oliver is the KOLR 10 weeknight evening news anchor. Seifried is an account manager for Springfield Remanufacturing Corp.’s Heavy Duty Division.

The Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce named its Nixie Award honorees in six categories: Small Business of the Year, Insight Design Architects LLC; Large Business of the Year, Air Services Heating & Cooling/All Service Professional Plumbing; Volunteer of the Year, Christine Ferguson of Xtreme Exteriors Roofing & Siding LLC; Ambassador of the Year, Delores Albers of Delores Albers Photography; Individual Member of the Year, Summer Lampe of Xtreme Exteriors Roofing & Siding; and Lifetime Achievement Award, Sharon Benton Whitehill of Compere Robinette CPAs. Nominations are chosen by a committee of board members.

Transportation
Prime Inc. was named one of the Top 20 Best Fleets to Drive For in 2020 by CarriersEdge and the Truckload Carriers Association. The companies are chosen through in-depth interviews, driver surveys, successful programs and emerging trends.
