A multimillion-dollar hotel construction project of a new brand from Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc. (NYSE: WH) is finished near Springfield-Branson National Airport.
David Harari, founder and CEO of Miami, Florida-based Bloom Ventures, said his investment management firm, which owns the hotel and property, was able to begin taking reservations for Echo Suites Extended Stay by Wyndham Springfield Airport Plaza on Dec. 16. The $13.5 million hotel’s opening at 3471 W. Kearney St. was several weeks ahead of Harari’s previous February 2026 estimate, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
Harari said Osage Beach-based Thomas Construction was general contractor for the 50,000-square-foot, 124-room Echo Suites hotel, adding it is the first of the new Wyndham brand to open in Missouri. The concept features dog-friendly suites with full-size refrigerators and cooktops, laundry facilities, a fitness center and electric vehicle chargers. Echo Suites are competitors to extended-stay hotels such as WoodSpring Suites, Extended Stay America and Candlewood Suites, he said.
“There are about 15 of them opened and over 200 in the pipeline,” Harari said of Echo Suites. “Wyndham acquired this brand early in 2023, and there are developers building them all over the country. It’s a newer, sleeker brand.”
The site is located immediately adjacent to Bloom Ventures’ La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield Airport Plaza, which the company purchased in late 2022, according to past reporting.
“We have a 92-room hotel, and we acquired the land adjacent to it and so it’s a shared parking lot. One management company manages both and is a nice synergy between having extended stay and transient side by side from each other,” Harari said, noting Knoxville, Tennessee-based Gibson Hospitality Ventures is the management company for both hotels. “They don’t really compete. They can actually complement each other.”
Harari said the hotel, which is roughly 5 miles from the airport, will target the business traveler, particularly those working during longer stays, such as travel nurses.
“We get the long-term business that comes into town,” he said. “It’s a hybrid between a hotel and an apartment. Average stay is between seven to 10 nights.”
While no additional Springfield hotel projects are in the works for his company, Harari said Bloom Ventures plans to build its second Echo Suites in Bentonville, Arkansas.
“We’re identifying some land right now, so it’s a few years out,” he said.
